Villedon opens in style

Carpworld - - TOPCATS -

The new season got underway at the impressive Lac de Villedon and it’s fair to say that things started with a bang with literally stacks of good fish coming out. Every swim on the venue has produced fish and the great news is that the weights are really on the up. Over the last couple of years Villedon has implemented a boilie and pellet only rule on the lake and this has seen a marked increase – not only in the size, but also the condition of the fish. Previously other baits were allowed, in part to combat the poisson chat that were starting to take a hold in the lake. But an extensive draining and netting program had the desired effect and the vast majority of small catfish were removed, leaving all of the bait at the disposal of the carp – and what a difference it has made. Five fish over 60lb were reported in quick succession from different swims around the 100-acre lake with several more over 40lb and 50lb. It looks like it’s going to be a great year at the Dutch-owned lake in France and, of course, we will bring you all the news as it happens.
