Big fish action at Iktus Pau
It’s been another action-packed month at Iktus Pau in the far south of France. Literally, there have been dozens of fish between 20kg and 26kg captured from both lakes on the complex but, in particular, the main carp lake is where five carp over 30kg have been banked in one week alone! Various swims have been doing well and in particular Swim 5 where there were fish of 55lb, 66lb, 69lb 4oz and 69lb 8oz caught in just five days. Swim 4 is often seen as the little brother to Swim 5, smaller in size and not quite as popular, but it has been doing the business with several good fish, and big ones too. Swim 6 has most of the deeper water on the lake but again fish to over 30kg have come out recently. Up at the other end of the lake Swims 1 and 2 have been doing well also. Despite being the narrower part of the lake the fish have been getting there in numbers and Swim 2 in particular has produced fish to 29.5kg (65lb 4oz). While it’s the biggest fish that tend to make the news there have also been some incredible koi carp landed too. Most of the koi come from the front Sturgeon Lake and the biggest over the last month was one weighing just over 40lb. But for sheer colours it’s difficult to beat the stunning example that’s pictured here.
FRANCE: IKTUS PAU Not the biggest but certainly the most colourful Iktus carp from the last month
