It has been a bumper month over on the continent, with a vast number of huge carp being reported to Mr Briggs’ newsdesk!

Jaco Roos had a brilliant 13-fish session on his local public lake in South Africa, called Potchefstroom Dam. This included three fish over 30lb up to 36lb and ten fish from low to high 20s. The session, which lasted 72 hours, was one of Jaco’s best at this particular venue. All the fish were caught on 24mm The Krill boilies, tipped off with 16mm Pineapple N-butyric popups in a simple snowman presentation. The hookbait was fished over a bed of whole and halved boilies. All of this was presented along a rocky underwater ridge near the marginal reed beds. A size 4 Nash Fang Twister hook and 25lb Armourlink hooklink completed the set up.
