THE final rehearsals have been going on this week for the grand community concert, poised to start the closing session of Cowdenbeath Rotary Club’s centenary year events.

Concert director, Elaine Green, has been delighted with the rehearsal performances of the local

artistes, who will take the stage at the Lochgelly Centre Theatre on Friday night.

Our picture shows members of three of the groups of entertainers who will make it a packed night of fun and enjoyment for the audience.

Taking a bow are Nameless and Shameless, a four-piece acoustic rock band, featuring bass player Donald Lindsay, guitarist Ian Craig, drummer Ian Douglas, and vocalist Leonie McManus.

Also pictured is Linton Osborne, one of the duo known as the ‘Heilan Cooboys’, who play some wellknown songs and crack plenty of jokes; and a 26-year-old local singer who features on the Fife pubs and clubs circuit, Shannon Green.

Elaine said: “The acts have been working hard at their preparations, and I am sure that we are going to see a fantastic night of entertainment.”

Rotary Club president, John Gilfillan, pictured far right, is the

compere for the evening.

He commented: “We are indebted to all the entertainers who are taking part on Friday night, who will make it a memorable evening.

“Tickets have been going well, but there are still a few available and enquiries can be made at the Lochgelly Centre box office.”

Admission is £12, with concessions £8, and children £5, and all funds raised will go to the rotary club’s charities fund for local good causes.
