Would Kali come to my aid?
Drastic action
How could I have doubted Kali? My first step was to see my doctor. Like Kali, he knew I needed help. He referred me to Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. ‘You’d benefit from a gastric sleeve,’ the consultant there said. ‘Thank you, Kali,’ I whispered. A gastric sleeve op reduces your stomach to the size of a golf ball. So you can’t have two pizzas for lunch because there just isn’t room. Drastic, yes. But what choice did I have?
Protection
The day before the operation, I cast a spell for protection and strength. And it worked.
The operation turned out to be a huge success.
In the days and weeks afterwards, I used the cauldron I keep in the kitchen of my flat to create herbal drinks and magical
remedies.
Spell chanting
When I felt hungry, instead of eating, I chanted my spells. They cleansed my chakras, gave me energy. It kept me focused. Kept me going. And the weight just fell off. Within the first month, I must have lost a stone, if not more. Within a year, I was down to 11st, and a dress size-22. Feeling much more G-O-D-D-E-S-S than ever. ‘You look fantastic, love,’ my mum tells me all the time. ‘I’m so proud of you.’ And you know what, I’m proud of me, too. I’d done it. Well, we’d done it. Me and Kali. One Goddess helping out another. And isn’t that the way it should be?
Better and happier
Right now, I’m feeling better. Happier and happier than I’ve ever felt before. There’s so much to look forward to. I’m hoping to make my break as a film actress, and I want to write my autobiography sometime soon. And I know that my Goddess will be with me every step of the way. My Kali. My friend. My hero.
