But I’m a tennis player! Dear Jayda A friend of mine says I have swimmer’s shoulder, but I don’t swim! I play tennis. Penny, 42, Inverness
Dear Penny
You may have shoulder impingement syndrome, which is pain when you lift your arm up or behind. It’s caused by a muscle tendon catching in your shoulder. Swimmer’s shoulder can be confused with frozen shoulder – pain and loss of movement from inflamed tissue. Shoulder problems need treatment from a physiotherapist to avoid ongoing pain.
