K nown as Lady Rainbow, Ix Chel is the Mayan goddess of creation and the moon. A gorgeous being of light who could shine many colours, she was devoted to her lover, the sun god Kinich Ahau. Often pictured carrying a rabbit to represent the cycles of life, she’s also associated with the wisdom of the serpent.
