In Mediaeval times, wild boar were hunted for the King’s table – but they became extinct in Britain in the 13th century. In 2006, wild boar were secretly introduced to the Forest of Dean by animal activists, and can now be found throughout the forest. However, locals aren’t completely enthusiastic about their presence as they’re known to plough up people’s gardens, attack dogs and horses, and rip into bin bags!
