SOW SORCERY

-

In Celtic Ireland, pigs were considered magical and the herdsmen who looked after them inherited some of their powers. There are ancient texts that tell stories of magical battles performed by swineherds. These epic encounters usually took place in the forest where the pigs lived - and the sorcery doesn’t end there! The Welsh goddess of inspiration and magic, Ceridwen, had the ability to shapeshift into pig form, and was known as 'The White Sow'. A powerful enchantress with psychic vision, she plumped for the pig as her animal ally - and you can too!

Close your eyes and visualise a beautiful white pig in your mind. See it standing before you and imagine gazing into its eyes. Breathe deeply and ask this mystical being if it has a message for you. Relax and let any thoughts, images or words flow into your head. Don’t force anything, just let impressions come and go. When you’re ready, let the image of the pig fade, open your eyes and write down any insights you can recall.
