EARTH MOTHER

Gaia is the goddess most associated with Mother Earth. Greek in origin, she’s known as the ‘Mother Of All’ who was born from the void. Creator of the Universe, she gave birth to the sky god Uranus, and later the sea in the form of the god Pontus – with no father involved in the process! Terra is her Roman counterpart, but there are many other versions around the world. The ancients viewed the Earth as a feminine entity and worshipped her life-giving properties by working the land and tapping into the energy of each season.
