Amaranthine skincare really does its name justice (meaning: undying, immortal, eternally beautiful). Offering 100% natural products handcrafted in Scotland, this certified ‘Palm oil free’ brand has really impressed me. Their Cleansing Balm beats many others I have tried that are more than double the price!

Many people shy away from cleansing balms, but get the ritual right and you’ll be left with fresh, clean, glowy skin which doesn’t feel at all stripped. And it’s suitable for all skin types (yes, even oily skin). I’m a total convert. Here’s how I use it:

Theritual

Saturate your favourite cotton muslin or bamboo cloth in hot-as-you-can-handle water.

Wring out thoroughly and then place the cloth over your face. Leave it there to open your pores until the cloth has cooled down.

Take a 20p sized amount of the balm on your fingers and massage all over your face. Really enjoy this process and spend a little time on it.

Run your cloth under hot water again, wring out, and place over your face once more until cool.

Use the cloth to gently buff away the balm, in small circular motions. Repeat the previous step if necessary to remove all residue.

Finish by saturating your cloth with very cold water, wring out and place over your face to close pores.
