Kirk Douglas
Kirk Douglas was a family man as much as he was a public idol. Men wanted to be him, and women wanted to be with him, so he’d play to the crowds, portraying the ideal family man and lover both on and off screen. Watching him over his many years of acting, he was able to play any part and capture the spirit of whoever he was portraying. He loved spending time with his family, attending birthdays and weddings, and generally being the devoted dad and grandad. However, his onscreen life and celebrity lifestyle bore no resemblance to his upbringing and childhood, which was difficult, as a child raised by poor immigrant parents, with six sisters. But this taught him so much and he’d always think of others before himself.
