I am so touched, and amazed, as every day I used to sing to him, ‘You are my sunshine’– and sometimes we were in the bathroom at that time too! Oban really was so funny, such a character and yes, holidays actually were for him. We loved to take him away on trips and he revelled in it.

He had various problems and went to hydrotherapy to help. He was adored there and at the vets too. He had survived a serious operation and was fine for months. Suddenly one day in the garden, he just collapsed and died in my arms. It was a shock beyond words.

In the spirit world, him showing you the working boots indicates that he’s with my dad. I am so glad they are together. The name is actually Joannie, my mum who did break her ankle a while ago!

I am so glad he can see his memory corner and I now sing to him, ‘How long will I love you? As long as the stars are above you.’

I do thank him for proving that spirit life really does exist. We did ‘pour love’ into him and he was worth every drop.
