Hello kitty

I ’m from a Romany Gypsy family and keep dreaming about kittens. It always starts with one that’s white and ginger, and within minutes of it walking behind or beside me, another one appears on my other side, like a mirror image, although they’re not identical. These young cats don’t appear in every dream but when they do I awake feeling insecure and anxious – are they trying to warn me? Is this a change I need to be aware of? Joeanne, 32, UK

Kittens tend to symbolise innocence and purity, like babies do – only with a strong element of striving for independence. I think you’re trying to find your own way in life, possibly against the advice or wishes of those around you. You probably have these dreams when you’re striking out on your own, against the views and support of others, which can leave you feeling both insecure and anxious as a result.
