Mistress of snow and ice, and patron goddess of winter, Morena is a Slavic deity and one of the old gods. Although a young woman, she mostly appears as an ugly hag, but to those that show no fear she reveals her beauty. Originally a fertility goddess, over time her darker side emerged, and she was associated with winter, death, and the underworld.
