Let there be light!

At the darkest time of the year it’s instinctual to want to create brightness, but don’t let that be limited to the fairy lights on your Christmas tree. Every room in the house should give pride of place to a solstice flame. Stand at the doorway of each room and imagine the flow of energy – which the Chinese call chi – entering, and circulating. Where, in the room, can you imagine the energy might become stagnant and lifeless? That’s where you should put your lights, to positively charge the room’s energy. You may choose a garland of coloured bulbs, a small lamp or a candle. However, candles should, of course, be placed in a very safe container, and not left unattended. Even an unlit candle in a bright container will have a favourable effect.
