See the future

Rainwater is great to use for scrying (seeing the future) as it comes directly from the universe or Goddess. Collect as much rainwater as you can in a dark-bottomed bowl, and sit in a dark room, lit only by a candle. Traditionally, witches used to scry with an obsidian bowl, but these are getting quite rare and expensive now.

Place the bowl containing the rainwater near the candle and stare into it. Take several deep breaths and clear your mind of all worries. Then say into the bowl:

‘I call forth spirits of the sky, I open my third eye. Images now come thick fast, Upon this water you shall last.’

Record the images you see before you in a notebook. You might see flowers, for example, or a sun, or boats.

It’ll take a bit of practice to make sense of all the visions you might see, but keep writing them down. When you look back through, you’ll start noticing themes or ideas.
