Chat It's Fate

Heka – the name of the the god of magic as well as the name for magic itself – had a big role in Egyptian society. He was regarded as the underlying force and creator of the universe, so that life, balance and harmony were possible. He was more powerful than the other gods, and they regarded him with fear and reverence, because his creation gave them their powers.

The ancient Egyptians had different temples to honour different gods. Heka’s all-powerful presence meant he was already represented in the power of the other deities, so when a temple was built to honour another god, it served as a temple to Heka too.
