Man monitor
Snuggled on the sofa with my partner, Jonathan, 33, we took the chance to relax in front of the telly.
It was July 2015, and I’d just got our baby daughter Rosie off to sleep.
So precious.
But, as new parents, we were enjoying some ‘us-time’ while she was asleep upstairs.
Glancing at our video baby monitor, I spotted a white blob of light the size of a tennis ball hovering over Rosie as she slept.

The bedroom had blackout curtains pulled across the windows so no light could get in.
Stunned, I stared at the strange orb in disbelief, its eerie light illuminating the room.
Rosie was still fast asleep. Thankfully, the mysterious glow hadn’t disturbed her slumber. Still, I couldn’t help feeling a bit spooked.
‘What’s that?’ I exclaimed, pointing at the screen. ‘I just don’t know,’ Jonathan said, ‘I’ll go check on Rosie.’ Meanwhile, I kept my eyes on the monitor, filming the light on my phone. It was still there when Jonathan appeared on the screen, but when he returned with Rosie in his arms, he swore there was nothing there! ‘Maybe it was a ghost!’ Jonathan joked. ‘Stop it!’ I laughed nervously. We didn’t believe in ghosts, but I was freaked out. After, I posted the video on a Facebook group for mums, and a woman responded. She said she was psychic, and told me the orb was nothing to be afraid of. ‘He wasn’t there for Rosie, he was there for Jonathan,’ she added. The woman then spelt out the name of a member of Jonathan’s family who’d recently passed away. I got goosebumps as she revealed his presence was there to watch over Jonathan. Jonathan was equally surprised as I had been but we both felt better knowing that the presence was a positive one! Jonathan’s an amazing dad. And it’s comforting to know that someone’s looking out for my fella.
