Slen­der Man be­gan as a meme on a web­site called Some­thing Aw­ful in 2009, but has since taken on a life of his own. Said to be im­pos­si­bly tall and thin, with black ten­ta­cles for arms that he uses to catch un­sus­pect­ing chil­dren, many peo­ple claim ac­tu­ally to have seen him.

In 2014, two 12-year old girls in Mil­wau­kee, USA, lured their friend into the woods and stabbed her 20 times. Their mo­ti­va­tion? To prove their de­vo­tion to Slen­der Man – and per­suade him to re­veal him­self to them.

Now, video footage has emerged that ap­pears to show a man wan­der­ing about in a for­est, where he’s con­fronted by a crea­ture re­sem­bling the de­scrip­tion of Slen­der Man. Ac­cord­ing to Youtube chan­nel Nv Tv, the cam­era man was camp­ing at his favourite site – and never re­turned…
