This photo of the Brown Lady of Raynham, taken at Raynham Hall in Norfolk, has fascinated and amazed people for many years. She’s said to be the ghost of Lady Dorothy Walpole, locked up in the house by her furious husband when he discovered she’d committed adultery back in the 18th century. The lady is said to wear a brown brocade dress, and became very famous in 1936 when photographers from magazine Country Life claimed to have snapped her image. The lady is clearly still at home and wants it to stay that way. This spirit feels very welcoming and makes sure that the guests are welcomed in a very spooky way!
