MULE GHOUL

One Brazilian folk tale tells the story of a beautiful married woman. She had sex with a priest, so, cursed for her sins, she was turned into a ghostly headless mule called the mula sem cabeca. With flames shooting from its neck, it runs through the countryside, trampling to death anyone that gets in its way. Pricking the mule with a pin will turn it back into a woman, who will be naked and soaked with sweat. But this only lasts as long as the woman’s rescuer is alive. When her saviour dies, she will turn back into the phantom headless mule, doomed to its fiery gallop for all eternity.
