Chat It's Fate - - True-life -

In Finland, people predict what’s going to happen in the coming year by casting molten tin into a container of water on New Year’s Eve, then interpreting the shape the metal takes after hardening. It’s a method of divination that works in much the same way as tea-leaf reading. A heart or ring means a wedding, while a ship predicts travel, and a pig shape promises that there will be plenty of food. A similar tradition is upheld in Germany, except molten lead is used instead of tin.
