What are the odds?

Wh T he definition of a premature baby is one born before 37 weeks. Many twins and triplets are born prematurely, and the average delivery date for multiples is 37 weeks. Extremely preterm babies are those born at less than 28 weeks. Sadly, the chance of survival at less than 22 weeks is close to zero. At 23 weeks, it’s 19%, at 24 weeks, 40%, at 25 weeks about 66%, and, at 26 weeks, 77%. The good news is that survival rates are improving all the time.
