Q So what gave you the idea to turn seemingly normallooking products into sex toys? Kelly, Liverpool

A often people have spare rooms locked tight for this. But we thought about people who don’t have a spare room or who have children. We realised there was a gap in the market to make seemingly ordinary household items or furniture that come with a surprise. That’s why we’ve made beds with secret storage and shelves that become X-stands. Your secret’s hidden without having to lock it away.

Q Has testing a product ever gone horribly wrong? Rosie, Ramsbottom

A No! Colum is always careful with the things he makes. He gets me to stand against cages or on the table to measure the height of the locks or bolts. But he’d never ask me to help unless it was safe.

Q What’s your cheapest product and your dearest? Jill, Eastbourne

A Our cheapest are our cuffs and collars, which we make frequently – they start at £30. Our dearest product would be our bed, which costs around £15,000. But we make a lot of bespoke items, so it really depends what you ask for.

Q Have you ever been embarrassed by a request? Stephanie, London

A At first, I was more shocked than embarrassed. I never really understood anything about the world of BDSM, so people would come in requesting things for different fetishes, and that was quite alarming. But I wouldn’t say I’ve ever felt really embarrassed.
