Get away! Ibiza

While Ibiza is famed for its nightlife, there’s so much more to this beautiful island

-

Browse the stalls 1

Saturdays are for shopping, so head to the markets. From 10am, stalls are set up at Las Dalias Hippy Market, selling everything you could want – clothes, jewellery, leather accessories and more.

Explore history 2

History buffs should head to the Dalt Vila, which is the old part of Ibiza Town, to view the Roman ruins, the Castle of Ibiza and the famous city walls. Stroll along the walls for some truly spectacular views.

Get active 3

With the crystal-clear waters of Es Canar, Cala Llonga and Playa d’en Bossa, watersports are one of Ibiza’s most popular activities. Take your pick from water-skiing, paragliding, riding inflatable bananas, diving, windsurfing and more. Then kick back and relax afterwards on the gorgeous beaches.

Head to the vineyards 4

It wouldn’t be a holiday without a tipple (or two), and Ibiza’s climate is perfect for grape growing. Your first port of call should be Sant Mateu d’albarca. On a tour of one of its vineyards, you’ll learn all about the winemaking process on the island, and its history. Afterwards, you can sample some of the produce with a meal in its restaurant.

Spend a day at Pikes Hotel 5

This place is steeped in rock ’n’ roll history – Freddie Mercury lived here for a while, and the Wham! video for Club Tropicana was filmed at the pool. The hotel also puts on the best Sunday roasts on the island! Start the day lounging in the pool before heading to the world’s most Instagrammable pink tennis court.

Watch Ibiza’s sensational sunsets 6

To see the spectacle, people flock to Café del Mar at the far end of the famous San Antonio Bay promenade. Grab a cocktail, listen to some chill-out music and watch the sun go down.
