The classic Christmas family game that not only takes luck, but strategy. Or… you could cheat with these simple steps! Make sure you’re the banker and sit in front of the money pile for easy access. Wear a long-sleeved jumper and, while no one’s looking, slip a note up there from the bank. Keep your money pile messy to avoid detection when you add your goods to it.

Hide your Community Chest and Chance cards, act happy and pretend it’s telling you to take money rather than pay up.

Don’t tell a hotel owner you’ve landed on their spot. Keep quiet and complain that the game is moving too slowly to make the next person take their turn. Keep the hotel owner distracted with a long story or a joke.

Negotiate! Do you need all the railroads to win the game? Suss out who has them and negotiate a cash deal that works for you both.

Offer real-life bribes. Instead of paying out to a hotel owner, offer to do the washing up or let them borrow your fave Christmas jumper.… which you just so happen to forget all about when the game has ended and you’ve won.
