Net yourself some spare cash with barely any effort with these handy tips…

1 rent out your shed or garage

If you’ve got a shed or a garage you’re not using, hire it out to someone who’ll pay to store their stuff in it. There are websites you can use, such as stashbee.com. It’s free to list your spare space, though you’ll pay commission on bookings, which covers things like ID checks for guests and hosts. For more info, visit stashbee.com. Before you rent out any part of your home, it’s essential to tell your home insurer.

2 Get paid to search onlıne

A simple way to bag some extra dosh is by joining qmee.com, which pays you to surf the net. Visit qmee.com and install the add-on, then search online as you normally would. When you see a Qmee result pop up with a cash reward attached to it, click the link to get the money. When we tried, we got 5p or 10p for each link we clicked on. It won’t make you rich but it’ll build up over time. You can fill in surveys to get cash, too.

3 Sell old toys

Lego has eternal appeal, so if you’ve got a loft full of it, you can sell the bricks online – musicMagpie pays £4 per kilo for bags of good-quality Lego pieces (visit musicmagpie.co.uk). Complete sets usually sell for more, especially if they’re rare or discontinued. Check on eBay to see what similar sets sell for, and set your price!
