Bingo winner

I netted £5,272 for a coastal trip!

- Carol Nelson, 62, Doncaster

Dropping my shopping bags on the kitchen table, I fell into the welcoming cushions of my sofa.

It was last November and, after a busy day running errands, I was looking forward to a hot drink and some time to unwind.

‘Fancy a little David Bowie?’ my husband David, 62, suggested, before picking an album to play.

Sounds like the perfect soundtrack to a little bingo,

I thought.

So I grabbed the laptop and logged into Chat Mag Bingo.

It’s my little treat in the evening. I’ll pop in and out of the chatrooms, chipping into talk about the weather or a new game on the website.

I used to go to the bingo halls with my mum when

I was younger, but as life got busier, I had less time to attend.

Then, in June

2010, a friend suggested I give online bingo a whirl.

I tried a few other websites, but

Chat Mag Bingo

quickly became my favourite.

It was easy to use, and there are often great promotions.

When I logged on that evening, I had £5 to play with. Perfect!

My favourite is the slot games and I spotted one called Arcade Bomb that I’d not seen before, so I decided to give it a go. I’d played for a bit, watching my spins. when I decided to have one more spin from the budget I’d set for myself that day.

As I clicked the yellow spin button again the screen froze. I tapped the space bar impatiently – and suddenly, coins began pouring down the screen.

I checked my balance. It was ticking up with… £5,272!

‘I’ve won!’ I screeched. ‘What’s happened?’ David asked, walking over to have a look.

‘I’ve won the jackpot!’ I cried, jumping up and dancing around.

I’d never had such a big win before. I’d scooped a £5 win here and there, but I was tickled pink to win one of the daily

jackpots. It was incredible.

You could win if you simply happened to be playing one of the Daily Double Jackpot games when the jackpot went.

‘This calls for a celebratory cuppa,’ David grinned.

He disappeared into the kitchen while I called my mother-in-law Norma, 84, to tell her the good news.

‘Are you putting it toward the camper van?’ she asked. ‘What else?’ I said, gleefully. For the past few months David and I had been looking for a camper van to take on fishing trips up North.

We longed to spend more holidays sitting peacefully alongside a fishing rod.

Over the next few weeks we looked around a couple of camper vans, and eventually settled on a glossy black model.

For our first trip,we drove to Amble in Northumberland.

We spent a lovely weekend exploring the gorgeous coastline, then drove back via Whitby in North Yorkshire.

Parking in the picturesque seaside town, we took a stroll along the promenade and tucked into a fish supper. Simple pleasures!

Later in the year we’re planning to sidle up the north coast of England to Scotland, before heading back down the west coast.

In the meantime, David and I will spend the evenings as we always do – nursing a cuppa and listening to music. And, yes, you’ll probably find me playing bingo, too!
