Dating back to 1809, the South Stack lighthouse is a must-visit site on Anglesey. Built on a tiny island, visitors must descend 400 steps down the steep mainland cliffs to reach it, then take on more steps if you want to climb the lighthouse itself! Back on the cliff path close by, Ellin’s Tower RSPB centre offers ‘nest cams’ and high-power binoculars to view the thousands of nesting seabirds, including puffins, guillemots and razorbills.

Seafood diet

There’s no shortage of choice for culinary delights on Anglesey. Visit the monthly farmers’ market at Prince’s Pier for locally-grown and freshly-caught treats! For eating out, enjoy the beautiful location and menu of The Oyster Catcher in Rhosneigr, or Newborough’s The Marram Grass owned by Ellis Barrie of BBC2’s Great British Menu.

Showtime!

The Anglesey Show is a popular annual summer event. Immerse yourself in agricultural life and the Welsh language as you take in livestock shows, craft exhibitions, delicious food and much more!
