ROAD MENACE KILLS AGAIN
On 10 January 2003, banned driver Ian Carr (below), 27 – who had 89 previous convictions – admitted causing the death of Rebecca Sawyer (right), 6, by dangerous driving.
Carr also seriously injured her toddler sister when he ploughed into their family’s car in a stolen Vauxhall Astra on New Year’s Eve.
The tragedy happened in Ashington, Northumberland, two miles from where Carr had overturned a speeding car and left his best friend dying 12 years earlier. Carr was jailed for nine and a half years and disqualified for life.
