On 12 Au­gust 1966, six shots rang out across Worm­wood Scrubs Park, Lon­don.

Po­lice of­fi­cers PC Ge­of­frey Fox, DC David Womb­well and DS Christo­pher

Head had been shot dead. They’d ap­proached a van con­tain­ing three men plan­ning an armed rob­bery.

Harry Roberts,

John Wit­ney and John Duddy were jailed for life. Duddy died in jail in 1981, Wit­ney was re­leased in 1991 and Roberts in 2014.
