Finding love can be a costly business, according to a study by dating app Plenty of Fish. When it comes to meeting a potential love interest, the research found that women spend an average of £53 on pre-date prep, such as new clothes and make-up. On the date, women spend an average of £37, and men typically spend £63. However, almost nine in ten people who took part in the study said ‘chemistry’ is far more important than the cost of the date.
