An orgasm with a difference

QI’ve read about squirting orgasms – and last week, I think I had one. But my boyfriend said it smelt like wee! Rowena, Musselburgh

AHe sounds like a charmer! Squirting orgasms are when you suddenly eject fluid from your vagina as you orgasm, similar to a man’s ejaculation of semen. Some women claim they’re the secret to wonderful sex, though not everyone agrees.

The fluid is probably a mixture of lubricating fluid produced by what are called Skene’s glands inside your vagina – and, yes, some wee, too. The fluid is ejected when your pelvic muscles give a squeeze during orgasm.

It’s sterile and harmless, but might contain enough urine to leave a smell.
