Will I pick another bad bloke?

QMy ex was abusive and we split up last year. But I still have nightmares. I want to move on and find a new man, but I’m struggling. I’m worried that I’ll pick another bad guy.

How can I begin to heal and move on with my life?

AIt’s understandable that you’d be feeling this way. What I want to ask you is, are you sure you’re ready to find another partner? Because, as you say yourself, you’re struggling.

It sounds to me like you need to give yourself time to heal, and put that past where it belongs before risking your heart again. You don’t have to do it alone. Speak to a domestic-violence charity or look into therapy.

You’ll find love when the time is right for you. And there are plenty of good men out there, trust me.
