MENCAP STATS

Research from the charity Mencap reveals that, despite 1.5 million people in the UK having a learning disability, two thirds of Brits cannot correctly identify a learning disability as a reduced intellectual ability.

● 64% have witnessed someone be rude to or about a person with a learning disability.

● 31% admitted they themselves been offensive or disrespectful.

● 18% of people say they have never even spoken to someone with a learning disability, or not since they were at school.
