I’m sick of long distance

-

Q

My boyfriend lives abroad and refuses to move here because of his son, who he sees on weekends.

At the moment, he has no job stability, but if he moves to be with me then he will have a job lined up and we can fly his son out as often as we can.

I also refuse to move to be with him but can’t do long distance any more.

How can we solve this?

Oh dear, sounds like you’re a bit stuck. He won’t move, you won’t move, let’s call the whole thing off?

I understand why you want to be close to the bloke you love, but think what you’re asking of him. You’re saying he should move to where you choose, work the job you choose, and see his son when you choose. Ask yourself if you’d be prepared to make a similar sacrifice – if the answer is no, that tells you all you need to know.
