HELPING HAND
Father-of-three Stephen Davies was born without a lower left arm, and hated wearing heavy, unsightly prosthetics as a child.
With bionic limbs costing in the region of £30,000, in 2015, Stephen, then 41, invented his own arm using a 3D printer in his garden shed.
At just £30, the limb was a fraction of the price, and made fun designs easily accessible.
After giving a brightpink and purple arm to 7-year-old Isabella, a video showing her unwrapping her new limb and the delighted look on her face went viral.
Stephen now runs charity Team UnLimbited, and has designed 3D-printed arms for people aged from 6 to 72.
The original ‘Isabella Edition’ arm is now on display in London’s Science Museum.
