Bothered by a colleague

QRecently I had a miscarriage, and while I was signed off work, my colleague called me with a work question. I explained that I’d lost the baby.

Today he texted me again, asking yet another work question.

I find it really upsetting. I just want to take some time to process.

AI’m so sorry for your loss, flower. Miscarriage isn’t talked about enough and it’s often not counted as grief. So, firstly, I hope you and your partner are getting the support you need.

As for work, you’re right, it is insensitive to bother you. But try not to take it to heart. This man probably acted without thinking.

Have a word with your boss. Remind folk you’re off on sick leave. And if it continues, well, that’s what HR is there for.
