My little boy isn’t spoilt

Last week, my mum called my 5-year-old son selfish and spoilt. He’s doing well at school, is always polite, doesn’t throw tantrums and is so kind.

I grew up self-conscious because of my mum, and I don’t want that to happen to my son, too.

I can’t stop taking him to her house because it’d cause upset, but I’m afraid history will repeat itself. Serena, 30

At least your mum taught you how not to parent!
