Our Ruth’s marathon achievement

-

BREAST CANCER NOW’S REBECCA HIGHFIELD, 36, FROM BUCKINGHAMSHIRE, SAYS:

I’m nominating running star Ruth as my local hero.

Ruth Tuthill started running in lockdown, quickly noticing the health benefits.

Research and care charity Breast Cancer Now is a cause close her heart.

After hearing about the impact the pandemic was having on breast-cancer patients, she signed up to our £1,000 Challenge, to raise funds.

She planned to run a solo marathon around north Oxfordshire.

She completed the marathon on Christmas Eve in three hours, 36 minutes, raising £3,500.

She then set her sights on running the London Marathon...

With the support of friends, family and local business Tuthill Porsche, she raised £62,734 – our top London Marathon fundraiser for 2021.

Keep on running, Ruth!
