AAccording to a recent Halifax study, in 2021 the average age of a first-time buyer was 32 years old, up from the average age of 29 in 2011. London has the highest average age of those buying their first home – at 33 years old – and the average age at which someone bought their first home is now 30 or above in every UK region.
