The judges have begun their deliberations to decide the shortlist for our annual photography competition in association with Wilkinson Cameras
It’s one of the hardest jobs of the year. Our judges are now sifting through the hundreds of entries to our ever-popular annual photography competition to select a shortlist of 12.
The delightful dozen they choose will appear in our free 2019 calendar and from those they will also choose a top three.
The competition has once again been sponsored by the awardwinning independent photo retailer Wilkinson Cameras, who have provided prizes for the top three photographs.
The third prize winner will receive a £75 Wilkinson Cameras gift voucher, with a voucher worth £150 for second prize. The first prize winner will be given a Sony A6000 camera worth £499.
All the pictures uploaded to our website – which already hosts the most comprehensive gallery of contemporary Cheshire photography you’ll find anywhere – are automatically entered to our annual hunt for the county’s best amateur photographer.
And now, our judges, including Cheshire Life editor Louise AllenTaylor and David Parkinson of Wilkinson Cameras, have begun the tricky task of choosing the shortlist.
‘There are so many eyecatching images that could be contenders for the prizes this year,’ said Louise. ‘I’d like to congratulate everyone who entered for making it so difficult for us to select just 12.’
Wilkinson Cameras, is an award-winning, independent photo retailer with 10 stores throughout the North West as well as an online store at wilkinson.co.uk, where you’ll also find a list of store locations and opening times.
