The kilts were out in force to celebrate the Nantwich and District Scottish Society’s 60th anniversary at a dinner at Crewe Golf Club. The society was formed in September 1958 by a group of Scots living in Nantwich and the surrounding areas, and has continued to flourish over the years. The aim of the Society is to provide a Scottish gathering where members can meet and enjoy the songs, dances and traditions of Scotland. Forty-nine members of the society attended the dinner and enjoyed an evening of food, dancing and Caledonian celebration. A 60th anniversary booklet had been compiled by a sub-group of the committee (History Group) and each member was given a copy as a souvenir. The booklet traces the history of the society over the past 60 years.
