Miss Mar­malade’s café in Nantwich won two prizes at the town’s an­nual food awards. The café, which opened in March, won the Best New­comer cat­e­gory and the Café of the Year prize at the cer­e­mony in the Civic Hall

Other win­ners in­cluded The Leop­ard, which was named Pub with food of the Year; Piste Wine Bar and Restau­rant in Tar­por­ley which took the Restau­rant of the Year award; and Cheer­brook Farm Shop which was named Best Lo­cal Pro­ducer.

Food fes­ti­val chair, Chris­tine Far­rall, said: ‘We know mar­ket towns like ours de­pend on lo­cal busi­nesses, not just to sur­vive but to pros­per as well. These awards recog­nise all the food and drink busi­nesses which at­tract many tourists and vis­i­tors to the town.’
