Guests chan­nelled the glam­our of the Roar­ing 20s and raised a fan­tas­tic £125,000 for Boot Out Breast Can­cer at their Gatsby Ball, at the Prin­ci­pal Ho­tel in Man­ches­ter city cen­tre. Char­ity pa­trons in­clud­ing par­a­lympian Dame Sarah Storey DBE, renowned sur­geon Pro­fes­sor An­drew Bail­dam and Greater Man­ches­ter Mayor Andy Burn­ham joined the fun to raise funds for a to­mog­ra­phy ma­chine. Boot Out Breast Can­cer founder Deb­bie Dowie, who has raised £750,000 for equip­ment for NHS hos­pi­tals, said: ‘The ball was a ter­rific suc­cess. We are now able to buy not only the to­mog­ra­phy ma­chine but equip­ment for the War­ring­ton and Hal­ton NHS hos­pi­tal.’
