Cheshire Life: January 2019
Rebecca Thomas may be at the beginning of her modelling career but she is already demonstrating the sort of tenacity that can take you on an exciting career path.
After finishing her university exams in July, she walked into the top Manchester model agency, Nemesis and was immediately signed up.
Educated in Northamptonshire, she moved to Prestbury with her family four years ago and went to the University of Sheffield to (funnily enough) like Scott, study architecture.
The 21-year-old had done a little modelling in London prior to relocating but now with her architecture degree nearing its end she has decided to make modelling her career.
Living in Prestbury she feels gives her an advantage because of the great communication links.
‘When you are relocating up north I think Cheshire appeals as it is not only a lovely place to live but it is easy to get into Manchester and into the countryside and it has great links to London which is so useful for jobs,’ she says.
‘And I am willing to work hard. I would say I am ambitious. I think it take a lot to succeed as there is a lot of competition in the industry but I am willing to put in what is needed.’
When she’s not working Rebecca loves to explore the Cheshire countryside. ‘ I am a big runner. I love to go running in the Cheshire Peak District and in Bollington along the canal. It’s beautiful there,’ she says.
‘For me running is second nature, rather than feeling I have to go to the gym.’
Rebecca also enjoys going out at night in the bars and restaurants in the area.
‘I love going to Alderley Edge,’ she says enthusiastically.
‘It’s a great place to go out with friends on a Friday night to places like The Botanist and we go to the Coast restaurant in Prestbury for things like big family occasions. They also do a great Sunday brunch there.’ Nemesis model agency nemesismodels.com
