In sup­port of the ‘Light for Ev­ery Child­hood’ NSPCC Christ­mas ap­peal, the char­ity’s East Cheshire com­mit­tee held a fes­tive lunch and shop­ping day at The Mere Golf Re­sort and Spa. Poyn­ton Con­cert Brass Band played as guests browsed gift stalls. A Christ­mas wreath­mak­ing class with award-win­ning florist Heather Rodgers of­fered tips for cre­at­ing wreaths for the home and af­ter lunch guests en­joyed watch­ing Anna-li­isa Evans of Spring­bank Flow­ers, demon­strate how to make im­pres­sive ‘Christ­mas at Home’ ar­range­ments. A raf­fle and auc­tion helped raise sub­stan­tial funds for the char­ity. The money will be spent in the East Cheshire area and will go to­wards an­swer­ing more NSPCC Helpline calls and help­ing to shine a light on chil­dren who are suf­fer­ing from ne­glect and abuse.
