An afternoon at the polo

Guests en­joyed a quin­tes­sen­tial English sum­mer afternoon at the Cheshire Polo Club for the an­nual Na­tional 4 Goal hosted by Par­fums de Marly

It was shades on and mal­lets at the ready at the Cheshire Polo Club near Tarporley for the an­nual Na­tional 4 Goal, Vic­tor Lu­do­rum Cham­pi­onship hosted by re­turn­ing spon­sors Par­fums de Marly.

A glam­orous crowd gath­ered for the ex­clu­sive event which be­gan with a cham­pagne drinks re­cep­tion be­fore guests en­joyed lunch in the mar­quee.

When it came to the polo the com­pe­ti­tion was even hot­ter than the climb­ing tem­per­a­tures but the afternoon’s main draw was the fi­nal match be­tween A.W.Jenk­in­son and Cli­nova, both vy­ing for the pres­ti­gious Ju­nior County Cup.

The thrilling match, for one of the most sought-af­ter cups of the sea­son, was watched by 195 lun­cheon guests as well as spec­ta­tors and club mem­bers.

Af­ter­wards, be­tween fur­ther glasses of fizz, the win­ning team A.W.Jenk­in­son was pre­sented with the Cup by Kan­chan Tooray on be­half of spon­sors Par­fums de Marly.

George Smith was named the Most Valu­able Player and Best Play­ing Pony went to Lolita owned and rid­den by Char­lie Wal­ton.
