Award-winning Whieldons Butchers is a Wirral institution – they also have an outpost in the everwonderful Claremont Farm farm shop – and many locals refuse to go anwhere else. At family-run Poplar Farm in Daresbury near Warrington you can buy your turkey where it was raised. Their Griffin free range turkeys are reared slowly and then hung to mature for a full flavour. Their website includes handy hints on cooking and prepping.
